Mac Pro facts for kids
The Mac Pro is a very powerful computer made by a company called Apple Inc.. It's part of Apple's Macintosh family of computers. The Mac Pro is known for being the fastest computer Apple sells, designed for people who need a lot of computing power, like video editors or graphic designers.
It uses special Intel Xeon microprocessors, which are like the computer's brain, helping it do complex tasks quickly. The Mac Pro replaced an older computer called the Power Mac G5. They look quite similar, and you can change the parts inside them in a similar way. Apple also sells other desktop computers, like the iMac and the Mac mini.

What is a Mac Pro?

History of the Mac Pro
The Mac Pro has changed a lot since it first came out. Each new version brings faster parts and new designs.
First Generation (2006-2012)
The very first Mac Pro was launched in 2006. It looked a lot like its older brother, the Power Mac G5. It was a big, rectangular tower made of aluminum. Inside, it had powerful Intel Xeon processors. This was a big change because Apple's older computers used different types of processors.
Second Generation (2013-2019)
In 2013, Apple released a completely new Mac Pro. It had a very different look, shaped like a shiny black cylinder or "trash can." This design was very compact and unique. It was still very powerful, packed with advanced processors and graphics cards.
Third Generation (2019-Present)
The latest Mac Pro, released in 2019, went back to a more traditional tower shape, but with a modern twist. It has a special design with holes that look like a cheese grater, which helps keep the computer cool. This version is designed to be very easy to upgrade, meaning you can add new parts like more memory or better graphics cards yourself.
