History of Macedonia, Iowa
Macedonia was named after the ancient region of Macedonia in Greece. The city is found along the historic Pioneer Trail. This trail was used by early settlers traveling west.
Geography of Macedonia
Macedonia is located in the western part of Iowa. The city covers a total area of about 0.61 square kilometers (0.24 square miles). All of this area is land, with no large bodies of water.
