Magic Mountain Resort is a fun place for skiing in south central Idaho. It's located in a part of the Sawtooth National Forest. You can find it east of Rogerson in Twin Falls County. It's also about 18 miles (29 km) northwest of where Idaho, Nevada, and Utah meet.

Exploring Magic Mountain Resort

Magic Mountain is a great spot for winter sports. It has a high point of 7,240 feet (2,207 m) above sea level. The difference in height from top to bottom is 700 feet (213 m). This vertical drop offers exciting runs for skiers and snowboarders.

What Kinds of Lifts Are There?

To get up the mountain, Magic Mountain has a few different lifts. There is a double chairlift that carries two people at a time. They also have a poma lift, which is like a disc you hold onto. For beginners, there's a rope tow that pulls you up a gentle slope.

How Many Trails and What's the Terrain Like?

The resort has 120 acres (0.49 km²) of land for skiing. It offers a variety of trails for different skill levels. About 30% of the trails are easy, perfect for beginners. Another 25% are a bit more difficult. For experienced skiers, 20% of the trails are very challenging. The remaining 25% are for experts only, offering the toughest runs.

Fun Beyond Skiing: Snow Tubing

Besides skiing and snowboarding, Magic Mountain also has a snow tubing hill. This is a super fun activity where you slide down a snowy hill on a large inner tube. It's a great option for everyone, even if you don't ski or snowboard.

Weather and Operating Hours

Magic Mountain gets a lot of snow each year. On average, it receives about 230 inches (584 cm) of snowfall. That's a lot of fresh powder for winter fun!

When Can You Visit Magic Mountain?

Outside of holidays, the ski area is open four days a week. You can visit from Thursday through Sunday. It does not offer night skiing, so all the fun happens during the daytime. Magic Mountain has been open for many years, since before 1950.
