Lake Maicasagi is a large freshwater lake in Quebec, Canada. It is found in the Eeyou Istchee Baie-James area, which is part of the Nord-du-Québec region.
The lake's surface covers parts of the Johnstone and Urfé townships. It also reaches into the Grandfontaine Township. This includes the Northwest Bay, which goes up to the mouth of the Chensagi River.
The main activity around Lake Maicasagi is forestry, which means cutting down trees for wood. Tourism and fun outdoor activities are also important.
You can reach Lake Maicasagi by forest roads. One road comes from the west, branching off the James Bay road. Another road is on the east side. It goes south of Goéland Lake and then north across the Waswanipi River.
Lake Maicasagi usually freezes over in early November. It stays frozen until mid-May. However, it's generally safe to walk or travel on the ice from mid-November to mid-April.
About Lake Maicasagi
This lake is about 14.7 kilometres (9.1 mi) long. Its widest point is about 8.6 kilometres (5.3 mi). The lake sits at an elevation of 262 metres (860 ft) above sea level. Lake Maicasagi is part of a much bigger water system. This system also includes Maicasagi Lakes (to the northeast), Waswanipi (southeast), Olga (west), and Goéland Lake.

The Max Passage is in the southwest part of the lake. It is about 10.5 kilometres (6.5 mi) long. This passage connects Lake Maicasagi to Goéland Lake.
The lake gets most of its water from two rivers. The Chensagi River flows into it from the north. The Maicasagi River flows into it from the east.
The water from Lake Maicasagi flows out through a bay. This bay is located in the Southwest Max Passage. From this exit point, it is:
