Mallabula is a quiet, mostly residential suburb in New South Wales, Australia. It's part of the Port Stephens area, located on the Tilligerry Peninsula. You can find it nestled between the towns of Lemon Tree Passage and Tanilba Bay. The name 'Mallabula' might come from an Aboriginal language, possibly meaning "three swamps".

Exploring Mallabula's Location

Mallabula is a low-lying area, almost at sea level. A main road, Lemon Tree Passage Road, runs right through it. This road stretches across the entire peninsula, connecting different towns.

In the northern part of Mallabula, there's a small neighborhood right by the water, on the banks of Tanilba Bay.

Beaches and Coastline

The beaches in Mallabula are mostly sandy flats. At low tide, a lot of sand is exposed, but at high tide, the water covers almost everything. This means the beaches aren't really for swimming or surfing.

Near a spot called Rookes Point, the land rises a bit, but most of Mallabula stays quite low. Even in the forested areas, the land is generally not much higher than 3 meters (about 10 feet) above sea level. The ground here is mostly sandy.

The land south of Lemon Tree Passage Road is mostly empty. There are only a few houses in one small street.
