Manheim is a small town, also called a borough, located in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, in the United States. In 2020, about 5,064 people lived there. The town gets its name from a place called Manheim in Germany.

History of Manheim
How Manheim Started
Manheim was first planned in 1762 by a man named Henry William Stiegel. He bought land in Rapho Township and wanted to build a big industrial area. Manheim officially became a borough in 1838.
Early Industries and Challenges
Henry William Stiegel started the Manheim Glassworks. This was a factory that made glass products. However, he faced money problems and had to sell his businesses in 1775. People tried to restart the glassworks a few times, but it finally closed in 1780.
Modern Improvements in Manheim
A big step forward for Manheim was the arrival of the first railroad train. This happened on January 1, 1862, when the Columbia and Reading Railroad line was finished. Later, in 1884, water pipes were installed, bringing running water to homes. Also, the Manheim Electric Company started providing electricity from a plant at Bomberger's Mill.
Geography of Manheim
Manheim is located in the northern part of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. It sits along Pennsylvania Route 72, which is also known as Main Street. The town is about 11 miles northwest of Lancaster, which is the main city of the county. It's also about 13 miles south of Lebanon.
Roads and Waterways
Another important road, Pennsylvania Route 772, goes through Manheim. This road leads east to Lititz (about 5 miles away) and southwest to Mount Joy (about 7 miles away). Manheim is next to Rapho Township on its west side and Penn Township on its east side.
The borough covers about 1.4 square miles (3.6 square kilometers). A small part of this area, about 0.02 square miles (0.04 square kilometers), is water. Chiques Creek, a stream that flows southwest into the Susquehanna River, forms the eastern edge of Manheim.
