Many is a town located in western Louisiana, United States. It is the main town, or "parish seat," of Sabine Parish. In 2020, about 2,571 people lived there.

History of Many
The area where Many is located today was first settled by Belgians around 1837. The town of Many was officially created on March 21, 1843. This happened when the Louisiana Legislature passed a special law called Act 46. This law divided Natchitoches Parish into several new parishes, including Sabine Parish. The new law stated that the main town for Sabine Parish would be named in honor of Colonel James B. Many. He was a military leader who commanded a nearby fort called Fort Jesup.
Geography and Climate
Many is located at 31°34′4″N 93°28′40″W / 31.56778°N 93.47778°W. The United States Census Bureau says the town covers about 3.1 square miles (8.82 square kilometers) of land. There is no water area within the town limits.

Recent Population Data
According to the 2020 United States Census, there were 2,571 people living in Many. There were 898 households and 543 families. The population included about 50.68% Black or African American people and 42.12% White people. Other groups made up smaller percentages of the population.
In the 2010 United States Census, there were 2,853 people in the town. At that time, about 48.1% of the people were Black, and 44.3% were White.
Culture and Fun
Many is home to Hodges Gardens, Park and Wilderness Area. This is a great place to visit and enjoy nature.
Education in Many
Public schools in Sabine Parish are managed by the Sabine Parish School Board. Students in Many attend:
- Many Elementary School (for grades Pre-Kindergarten to 4th grade)
- Many Junior High School (for grades 5th to 8th grade)
- Many High School (for grades 9th to 12th grade)
Many also has a campus of the Central Louisiana Technical College. This college offers programs to help students learn job skills. It also has general education classes and programs for high school students and adults.

Famous People from Many
Many has been home to several notable people:
- Cliff Ammons: He was a state representative in Louisiana and helped create the Toledo Bend Reservoir. He also taught at Many High School for many years.
- Frank Cole: A former football coach at Many High School who later served in the Louisiana Legislature.
- Ed Gossett: He was a U.S. Representative. He was born near Many in a place called Yellow Pine.
- Charlie Joiner: A famous former National Football League player. He is a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
- Frances (Poppy) Northcutt: She was the first female engineer to work in NASA's Mission Control during the Apollo 8 mission.
- John S. Pickett, Jr.: He served as a state representative and later as a judge. He was also on the school board for Sabine Parish.
- Benjamin Teekell: A state representative from Red River Parish. He lived in Many for some time.
- Ronald G. Tompkins: An American doctor and professor.
