Early Life and Family
María Eugenia Suárez Riveiro was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on March 9, 1992. Her parents are Guillermo Suárez and Marcela Riveiro Mitsumori. She has an older brother named Agustín Suárez.
Her grandmother, Marta Mitsumori, was born in Argentina and has Japanese family roots. China Suárez even has cousins who live in Kōchi Prefecture in Shikoku, Japan. She went to different schools in Buenos Aires during her childhood.
Acting and Music Career
China Suárez began her acting journey at just eleven years old. Her first role was in the TV series Rincón de luz in 2003. This show was created by Cris Morena, a famous producer.
In 2004, she had a small part in the TV series Floricienta. The next year, she appeared in Amor mío and then in the sitcom Amo de casa in 2006.
Becoming a Teen Star
From 2007 to 2010, Suárez played Jazmín "Jaz" Romero in the TV series Casi Ángeles. This show was also created by Cris Morena. Casi Ángeles was very popular and even had live theater shows.
From the TV series, a music group called Teen Angels was formed, and China Suárez was one of its members. She left the band in early 2011. Later that year, she won the "Favorite Actress" award at the Kids' Choice Awards Argentina for her role in Casi Ángeles.
Moving to New Roles
Between 2011 and 2012, Suárez joined the cast of Los Únicos, a show produced by Pol-ka. After that, she starred in a short series called 30 días juntos with Nicolás Pauls. This series was shown on Cosmopolitan TV in Latin America.
In 2013, Suárez worked with Pol-ka again in the comedy Solamente vos. She acted alongside Lali Espósito, who was also her co-star in Casi Ángeles. In 2014, she co-starred in the telenovela Camino al amor.
She also appeared on the TV show Tu cara me suena in 2014. On this show, she imitated Nicole Kidman from the movie Moulin Rouge!. Suárez also appeared in the music video for the song Hoy by David Bisbal.
Film Debut and Music
In 2015, China Suárez made her first big movie appearance in Abzurdah. This film was based on a book. For the movie, she recorded her own version of the song "Trátame suavemente" by Soda Stereo. Her performance in Abzurdah earned her the Premio Sur for Best New Actress.
On July 18, 2015, Suárez was chosen as an ambassador for Argentine cinema at the Premios Platino. In the same year, she also started her own clothing line, which included various fashion items.

China Suárez has three children. Her first daughter was born on July 18, 2013. She then had two more children, a daughter born on February 7, 2018, and a son born on July 28, 2020.
In 2024, it was reported that she was dating Formula 1 driver Franco Colapinto. In January 2025, Suárez shared publicly about her relationship with Mauro Icardi.
