Marc Singer is an actor from Canada and the United States. He was born on January 29, 1948. He is famous for playing Dar in The Beastmaster movies. He also played Mike Donovan in the 1980s TV show V. Another well-known role was Matt Cantrell in the TV series Dallas.

Early Life

Marc Singer was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. He grew up in Corpus Christi, Texas, in the United States. He has two brothers, Claude and Gregory. His sister, Lori, is also an actress and plays the cello.

Marc's father, Jacques Singer, was a symphony conductor. He had moved from Poland. His mother, Leslie Wright, was a concert pianist.

Acting Career

Before he became very famous, Marc Singer appeared in the TV miniseries Roots: The Next Generations. This show was a sequel to the popular miniseries Roots. He played a character named Andy Warner.

In the 1970s, Marc had a small but important role. He played a gladiator in the Planet of the Apes TV series.

Becoming Famous

Marc Singer became widely known in the early 1980s. He starred in the movie The Beastmaster, playing the main character, Dar. He also appeared in its sequels.

He also gained fame as Mike Donovan in the 1983 miniseries V. He continued this role in the 1984 sequel V: The Final Battle. Later, he was in the TV series V: The Series.
