How Marcell Got Its Name

He was a conductor on an old train line called the Minneapolis and Rainy River Railway. He was involved in a train accident in the area.

Moving the Town Center

The very first center of the community was a store run by John Lundeen. It was located near Big Turtle Lake. But in 1910, the town center moved to where it is today. This new spot was closer to the railway tracks.
