He is best known for his time at Roma. Fans remember him for scoring goals against their rivals, Lazio. He also helped Roma win the league title in 2001. Marco played for the Italian national team 22 times. He scored 4 goals for his country between 1998 and 2004. He played in UEFA Euro 2000, where he scored in the final. Marco Delvecchio's Club Journey
Marco Delvecchio was born in Milan, Italy. He started his professional football career at Inter in 1992. He also played for Venezia and Udinese.
In 1995, he joined Roma. This is where his career really took off. He became a very important player for the club. In 2001, he helped Roma win the Scudetto, which is the Italian league title. He also won the 2001 Supercoppa Italiana with Roma. He played alongside famous forwards like Francesco Totti and Gabriel Batistuta.
After Roma, he played for Brescia in 2004–05. Then he moved to Parma in 2005. In 2006, he joined Ascoli. On May 10, 2007, he left Ascoli due to a knee injury. He had scored two goals in ten games for them.
After a year away from professional football, Delvecchio joined a team called Pescatori Ostia. This was a lower-level league. He scored 34 goals for them in one season.
Playing for Italy: International Matches
Marco Delvecchio was a key player for the Italy under-21 team. He helped them win the UEFA European Under-21 Championship twice. They won in 1994 and again in 1996. He scored 6 goals in 24 games for the under-21 team. He also played for Italy at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta.
He made his first appearance for the senior Italian team in 1998. This was in a friendly match in Rome. He was chosen for the Italian squad for UEFA Euro 2000.
