Marquise Hill (born August 7, 1982 – died May 28, 2007) was an American football player. He played as a defensive end for the New England Patriots in the National Football League (NFL). The Patriots chose him in the second round of the 2004 NFL Draft. Before joining the NFL, he played college football at LSU.

High School Football Career
Marquise Hill went to De La Salle High School in New Orleans. During his time there, he was recognized as one of the best players. Many sports publications named him an All-American. They also called him the top defensive lineman in the country.
After high school, he was recruited by LSU. He also took part in the very first U.S. Army All-American Bowl game. This special game for top high school players happened on December 30, 2000.
College Football Achievements
Marquise Hill played college football for the LSU Tigers. He was a defensive end from 2001 to 2003. His team had a fantastic season in 2003. That year, the LSU Tigers won the national championship.
Playing in the NFL
The New England Patriots picked Marquise Hill in the 2004 NFL Draft. He was the 63rd player chosen overall in the second round. In his first year, 2004, he played in one game. During the 2005 season, he played in eight games. In those games, he made three tackles.
Remembering Marquise Hill
On May 27, 2007, Marquise Hill and a friend were on a jet ski in Lake Pontchartrain. This lake is located north of New Orleans. They both fell off the jet ski. Neither of them was wearing a personal flotation device or a tracking device.
His friend was able to grab onto a buoy and was rescued. Sadly, Marquise Hill's body was found the next day, on May 28.
During their amazing 2007 season, the Patriots honored Marquise. They wore a special "91" sign on the back of their helmets. This was Hill's jersey number. His teammate, Jarvis Green, who also played with him at LSU, wore Hill's shoulder pads that season. The Patriots also created a tribute to Marquise at their team facility. It included his pads and pictures of him.
