Marshall Newhouse, born on September 29, 1988, is a former American football player. He played as an offensive tackle. He was chosen by the Green Bay Packers in the 2010 NFL draft. With the Packers, he won Super Bowl XLV. Newhouse also played for many other teams during his career. These teams included the Cincinnati Bengals, New York Giants, and New England Patriots. He played college football at Texas Christian University.

Early Life and High School Sports
Marshall Newhouse grew up in Dallas, Texas. He went to Lake Highlands High School. There, he played football for two years. He was named the best offensive lineman in his district. He also won an award for being the Most Outstanding Offensive Blocker.
Besides football, Marshall was also good at track & field. He was the Texas State champion in shot put in 2006. He also competed in weightlifting. He finished third in the state championships in 2005. At school, he was part of the Horticulture Society and the Japanese Club. He has an older brother named John.
College Football Career
Marshall Newhouse played college football at Texas Christian University. In his first year, he was the only new student to play on offense. He made his first college game appearance in a win against Baylor.
In his second year, he started all 13 games as a left tackle. He was recognized as one of the best players in the Mountain West Conference. He continued to start every game at left tackle in his third year. By his senior year, he was named first-team All-Mountain West Conference. He was invited to the NFL Combine, where players show their skills to professional teams. He also played in the East-West Shrine Game.
Professional Football Journey
Green Bay Packers
The Green Bay Packers picked Marshall Newhouse in the fifth round of the 2010 NFL draft. He signed a contract with them in June 2010.
He did not play in any games during his first year. But in 2011, Newhouse became the starting left tackle. He played in 13 games that season. The Packers had a great year, winning 15 out of 16 games. He continued to be the starting left tackle for all 16 regular season games in 2012. He also played in two playoff games.
Cincinnati Bengals
In March 2014, Newhouse signed a one-year deal with the Cincinnati Bengals.
New York Giants
He then joined the New York Giants in March 2015.
Oakland Raiders
In March 2017, Newhouse signed a two-year contract with the Oakland Raiders. He started 14 games as a right tackle for the Raiders in 2017. The Raiders released him in March 2018.
Buffalo Bills
Newhouse signed a one-year contract with the Buffalo Bills in March 2018. He competed for a backup tackle spot. He ended up being a backup player. He would come into games for short-yardage plays.
Carolina Panthers
In September 2018, Newhouse was traded to the Carolina Panthers. He played in 11 games for them. He started two games as a left tackle when another player was injured.
New Orleans Saints
Newhouse signed with the New Orleans Saints in May 2019. He was later placed on injured reserve. This means he could not play due to an injury. He was released the next day.
New England Patriots
In September 2019, Newhouse signed with the New England Patriots. He started nine games for them that year. He played one game at right tackle and eight games in a row at left tackle.
Tennessee Titans
Newhouse joined the practice squad of the Tennessee Titans in November 2020. He was moved to the main team for one game in December. After that game, he returned to the practice squad. He was then signed to the active roster permanently in December 2020.
