Marytown, Wisconsin, is a small place in Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin. It's known as an "unincorporated community" because it doesn't have its own local government like a city or village. Marytown is part of the larger town of Calumet.

You can find Marytown where two county roads, Highway G and Highway HH, meet. A state road, Wisconsin Highway 149, used to run right through the community. However, that highway was changed in 2006.

Exploring Marytown and The Holyland

Marytown is located in a special part of eastern Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin called "The Holyland." This area got its name because many communities there were built around churches.

Some of these nearby communities include:

St. Mary's Church

One of the most famous buildings in Marytown is St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church. It sits on top of the biggest hill in the area. At night, the church is lit up, and you can see its lights from many miles away!

A Glimpse into Marytown's Past

Marytown has a bit of history, even though it's a small community.

Early Days

A post office was opened in Marytown way back in 1854. This would have been an important place for people to send and receive letters and packages. However, the post office eventually closed down.

A Summer Storm

On July 18, 1996, Marytown experienced a powerful storm. A tornado touched down and caused damage to several homes at the north end of the community. This event was part of a larger series of tornadoes that happened across Wisconsin on the same day, including the well-known Oakfield Tornado.
