Matlock is a small place in Mason County, Washington, in the United States. It's called an unincorporated community. This means it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town. Instead, it's managed by the county.
Matlock is the main hub for the western part of Mason County. This area is mostly forests and used for logging. You can find a church, a food bank, a general store, and a post office here. There's also a local grange hall and the Mary M. Knight school, which teaches students from kindergarten all the way through high school.

Matlock is a great spot for outdoor activities. It's close to many lakes and offers lots of ways to have fun. You can go fishing, hiking, hunting, and even horseback riding. The closest lake to Matlock is Lake Nahwatzel.
Every year, Matlock hosts a special event called the Old Timers' Fair. It happens during the first full weekend in May at the Mary M. Knight School. The fair is a lot of fun, with tasty food, handmade crafts, and cool old tractors on display.
Matlock is located northwest of Olympia, Washington. It's about a 20-minute drive from Shelton, which is the county seat. Matlock is a quiet, hidden gem not far from Shelton and Elma. It's also home to Mason County Fire District 12, which helps keep everyone safe.
