Maude Annabelle Apatow (born December 15, 1997) is an American actress. She is well known for playing Lexi Howard in the HBO drama series Euphoria, which started in 2019.
Maude is the older daughter of filmmaker Judd Apatow and actress Leslie Mann. She began acting as a child. She often played the daughter of her mother's characters in her father's films. These movies include Knocked Up (2007), Funny People (2009), and This Is 40 (2012). Later, she appeared in films like Assassination Nation (2018) and The King of Staten Island (2020). She also starred in the Netflix miniseries Hollywood (2020).

Maude Apatow's mother is actress Leslie Mann. Her father is director, producer, and screenwriter Judd Apatow. Her father's family is Jewish. She has a younger sister, Iris Apatow, who is also an actress.
Maude went to the Crossroads School. This is a private school in Santa Monica, California. She also attended Interlochen Arts Camp in Interlochen, Michigan. In high school, Apatow performed in musicals like Cabaret and Into the Woods. She studied theater at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. She later left college to focus on her acting career.
Since early 2024, Apatow has been in a relationship with Irish actor Patrick Gibson.
Maude Apatow's Acting Career
Early Roles in Comedies (2005–2015)
Apatow started acting when she was seven years old. She had a small part in her father's 2005 comedy film The 40-Year-Old Virgin. However, her scenes were not included in the final movie.
She then appeared in the 2007 film Knocked Up. Her father also wrote and directed this movie. Maude and her younger sister Iris Apatow played Sadie and Charlotte. They were the daughters of their real-life mother Leslie Mann's character.
She acted with her sister again in her father's 2009 film Funny People. She played Mable, the daughter of Mann's character. Apatow played her Knocked Up role again in the 2012 movie This Is 40. This film was a spin-off and starred Mann and Paul Rudd. For her role as Sadie, Apatow was nominated for two awards. These were the 2012 Phoenix Film Critics Society Award for Best Young Actress and the 2013 Young Artist Award.
After joining Twitter, Apatow became very popular online. This helped her become a writer and interviewer for Zooey Deschanel's website, Hello Giggles. Because of her work and acting roles, she was named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 list in 2012. Her Twitter account was also called one of the "Best Twitter Feeds of 2013" by Time magazine.
In 2015, Apatow had a small role in the film Pitch Perfect 2. That same year, she also appeared in three episodes of the HBO comedy series Girls as Cleo. Her father was an executive producer for this show.
Starring in Euphoria and Stage Work (2015–Present)
Apatow played Alexandra Mulcahey in the 2016 film Other People. This was her first big role in a movie not made by her father. In 2017, she played Meredith Whitcomb in The House of Tomorrow. She also directed her first short film, Don't Mind Alice. She co-wrote and co-directed it with Olivia Rosenbloom.
In 2018, Apatow starred as Grace in the film Assassination Nation. The director of this film, Sam Levinson, later cast Apatow in his HBO teen drama series Euphoria. The show started in 2019. She plays Lexi Howard in the series. Levinson wrote this role specifically for Apatow. In 2020, she co-starred in her father's film The King of Staten Island. She played the sister of Pete Davidson's character.
In 2022, a viral social media post called Apatow a "nepo baby". This term is used for people who get jobs in entertainment because their family members are famous. This made the term 'nepo baby' very popular on TikTok. Many users pointed out other celebrities with famous family members. The term became even more well-known when New York magazine published a story about it.
Apatow performed on stage in New York for the first time in 2023. She took over the role of Audrey in a musical called Little Shop of Horrors. She performed from February to April. She said this musical was important to her. It helped her discover musicals when she was a child. She later extended her time in the show. After that, it was announced that Apatow would join the West End (London) show Cabaret. She played the main role of Sally Bowles from May to September 2023.
In April 2024, Apatow and Olivia Rosenbloom started a film and TV company called Jewelbox Pictures. Their first project was Poetic License. This was Apatow's first movie as a director. Her mother, Leslie Mann, starred in it.
