The coat of arms is a special symbol for the Meißen district. It shows a lion, which was the symbol of the old counts of Meißen. This coat of arms was officially given on November 16, 1992. It was confirmed again on February 20, 1997, after the district became larger. Interestingly, it looks exactly like the coat of arms of Flanders. |
