Early Life and Education
Michael Johns grew up in Allentown, Pennsylvania. He went to Emmaus High School. After high school, he studied at the University of Miami. In 1986, he earned a degree in business with a focus on economics.
While at the University of Miami, he received a special honor. He was chosen to join the Iron Arrow Honor Society. This is the highest award a student can get from the university. He also studied humanities at the University of Cambridge in England.
Working in Politics and Public Policy
Johns started his career in politics by working with Donald L. Ritter, a member of Congress. He was a special fellow, learning about how government works.
