It usually happens in March or April at the Sheraton Music City Hotel and Embassy Suites Nashville Airport. This awesome convention is put together by a group called ArtsCubed, which is also based in Nashville. They also organize other cool events like the Geek Media Expo (GMX) and the Nashville Zombie Walk!
What Happens at MTAC?
MTAC is packed with exciting activities for everyone who loves anime, manga, and pop culture! Here are some of the cool things you can usually find there:
- AMV Contest: See amazing music videos made with anime clips.
- Artists Alley: Discover and buy unique art from talented artists.
- Charity Auction: Bid on special items to help a good cause.
- Cosplay Contest: Show off your awesome costumes and see others dressed as their favorite characters.
- Dealers Room: Shop for all sorts of anime, manga, and pop culture goodies.
- Gaming: Play video games, board games, card games, and tabletop role-playing games. Gaming areas are open 24 hours a day during the convention!
- Japanese Fashion Shows: Check out the latest trends in Japanese street fashion.
- Lolita Tea Party: Enjoy a fancy tea party with friends, often dressed in beautiful Lolita fashion.

- Panels: Attend talks and Q&A sessions with special guests and experts.
MTAC's Journey Through Time
MTAC has been around for a long time, growing and changing over the years.
- In 2010, the convention had to delay closing because of the 2010 Tennessee floods. This helped people who couldn't leave safely.
- In 2012, MTAC shared the Nashville Convention Center with another event, the Full Moon Tattoo and Horror Festival.
- By 2013, so many people were coming that MTAC needed more space! They expanded into extra areas in the convention center and hotel.
- In 2016, the Dealers Room was so popular that there were really long lines to get in!
- Sadly, MTAC 2020 had to be postponed because of the COVID-19 pandemic. It was later moved to 2021.
