Yuri Lowenthal (born March 5, 1971) is an American voice actor. He is famous for his work in cartoons, anime, and video games. You might know his voice as Sasuke Uchiha in Naruto or teenage Ben Tennyson in Ben 10. He also voiced Peter Parker / Spider-Man in the Marvel's Spider-Man video game series.
Yuri Lowenthal also has a company called Monkey Kingdom Productions with his wife, Tara Platt. They have made movies and a web series. He also helped write a book about voice acting.

Becoming a Voice Actor
Yuri Lowenthal was born in Ohio and grew up in Tennessee. He spent two years in Niger, Africa, when he was younger. He didn't act much until his last year of high school. That's when he joined a drama class and found he really liked acting. He watched early anime shows like Speed Racer and Star Blazers.
He went to The College of William & Mary for college. He studied East Asian cultures and spent a year studying in Japan. After college, he worked in Japan helping English teachers. He kept acting in plays there. Later, he moved to New York City to act in plays and independent films for six years.
Starting in Voice Acting
Yuri Lowenthal moved to Los Angeles to continue acting. He and his wife, Tara Platt, took a voice-over class. Their teacher later hired him for his first anime voice role in SD Gundam Force. Soon, he started getting more voice roles in cartoons, commercials, and video games.
His first big video game role was as the Prince in Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. He said it was a "lucky break" because it was a very popular game. Fans really liked his voice for the Prince. He returned to voice the character in later Prince of Persia games.

Anime and Cartoons
He voiced Haru Glory in Rave Master, which was shown on Cartoon Network. He also had roles in Zatch Bell!, Girls Bravo, and Scrapped Princess.
One of his most famous roles is Sasuke Uchiha in Naruto. He said playing Sasuke allowed him to explore "dark places" as the story went on, making the character more interesting. Naruto became very popular in the U.S.
In 2007, he voiced Jinnosuke, also known as "Kuma," a warrior with a teddy bear head, in the anime movie Afro Samurai. He played this role again in the sequel, Afro Samurai: Resurrection.
Other main anime roles include Suzaku Kururugi in Code Geass and Simon in Gurren Lagann. Both shows were popular on Adult Swim and Toonami.
In 2006, he became the voice of Superman in the animated series Legion of Super Heroes. He originally tried out for other characters but was chosen for Superman.

From 2008 to 2014, Lowenthal voiced 15-year-old Ben Tennyson in Ben 10: Alien Force and its follow-up shows, Ben 10: Ultimate Alien and Ben 10: Omniverse. The Ben 10 shows were very successful. Lowenthal learned how popular the show was when he traveled and saw kids wearing Ben 10 merchandise.
He also voiced Prince Derek in The Swan Princess direct-to-video movies starting in 2012. He even helped write the scripts for some of these films.
Video Game Characters
Yuri Lowenthal has voiced many characters in video games. He voiced Zane in Lego Ninjago: Nindroids in 2014. He also voiced the main character in Persona 3 and Yosuke Hanamura in Persona 4.
He is the voice of Cecil Harvey in the Nintendo DS game Final Fantasy IV and Dissidia: Final Fantasy. In the Dead or Alive fighting game series, he voices Hayate and Ein. He also voiced Matt Miller in Saints Row: The Third and Saints Row IV.
Since 2020, he has voiced Dainsleif in the popular game Genshin Impact. He also voiced Lorath Nahr in Diablo III.
One of his most well-known video game roles is Spider-Man / Peter Parker. He voiced and performed the movements for Spider-Man in Marvel's Spider-Man for the PS4. He played the role again in Spider-Man: Miles Morales (2020) and Spider-Man 2 (2023).
In 2023, he was the voice of Benni Baro in Star Wars: The Bad Batch. Later that year, he voiced Tomas Vrbada / Smoke in Mortal Kombat 1. In early 2024, he was one of the voices for the "Default Helldiver Voice 2" in Helldivers 2.
Other Projects
Yuri Lowenthal and his wife, Tara Platt, have worked on several live-action projects through their company, Monkey Kingdom Productions. They made a funny movie called Con Artists in 2008 about their visits to conventions. They also produced Shelf Life, a web series where they act as action figures in a world similar to Toy Story, but for older audiences.
He also plays a key role in the horror podcast Old Gods of Appalachia as the voice of The Railroad Man.
In 2010, Lowenthal starred in Van Von Hunter, a live-action comedy film. He played a barbarian from a fantasy world who ends up on Earth. He won an award for best character at a film festival for this role.
He also helped write the movie The Arcadian. In 2015, he joined Wil Wheaton's web series Titansgrave, where he plays a character named S'Lethkk.
Yuri Lowenthal and Tara Platt also wrote a book together called Voice-Over Voice Actor: What It's Like Behind the Mic, which came out in 2010.
Personal Life
Yuri Lowenthal met actress Tara Platt while working on a film in college. He proposed to her in Ohio, and they got married in Las Vegas in 2001. They started their company, Monkey Kingdom Productions, in 2004. Their son was born in 2016.
