A Look at Middleburg Heights History
Middleburg Heights is part of a special area called the Connecticut Western Reserve. Long ago, in 1786, the state of Connecticut kept this land for itself. They did this when they gave up other western lands to the new United States government.
The first European settlers in this area were Jared Hickcox and his family. They came from Waterbury, Connecticut. The Village of Middleburg Heights officially started in 1928. It became a city in 1961.
