Michael John Myers OC (born May 25, 1963) is a famous Canadian actor, comedian, and filmmaker. He is known for creating many funny characters. Mike has won several awards, including seven MTV Movie & TV Awards and an Primetime Emmy Award.
In 2002, he received a star on the famous Hollywood Walk of Fame. Later, in 2017, he was honored as an Officer of the Order of Canada. This award recognized his amazing work as an actor, writer, and producer.
Mike Myers first became well-known on the TV show Saturday Night Live. He was a cast member from 1989 to 1995. After that, he starred in many popular movies. These include the Wayne's World films, the Austin Powers series, and the Shrek movies. He voiced the main character, Shrek, in these animated films. The Shrek movies became one of the highest-grossing animated film series ever. Mike also played the main character in the 2003 movie The Cat in the Hat.
More recently, Mike Myers has appeared in films like Bohemian Rhapsody (2018). He also directed a documentary called Supermensch: The Legend of Shep Gordon (2013). In 2022, he created and starred in the Netflix original series, The Pentaverate.

Mike Myers' Early Life
Michael John Myers was born in Scarborough, Ontario, Canada, on May 25, 1963. His parents, Alice and Eric Myers, were from Liverpool, England. Both of his parents were veterans of World War II. His mother served in the Royal Air Force, and his father was in the British Army.
Mike has two older brothers. One is Paul, who is a musician. Mike grew up in Scarborough and North York, where he went to high school.
Mike Myers' Career Beginnings
Starting in Show Business
Mike Myers started acting very young. He appeared in commercials when he was just two years old! At age 10, he was in a commercial with famous comedian Gilda Radner. When he was 12, he had a guest role on the TV show King of Kensington. At 16, he appeared on The Littlest Hobo.
After high school, Mike joined The Second City touring company in Canada. This group is famous for its comedy and improv. In 1985, he moved to the United Kingdom. There, he helped start The Comedy Store Players, an improv group in London.
The next year, he was on a British children's TV show called Wide Awake Club. He created a funny segment called "Sound Asleep Club." He then returned to Toronto and The Second City in 1986. Later, in 1988, he moved to Chicago to train and perform at Improv Olympic.
Mike also made many appearances on Toronto TV in the early 1980s. He often played his character Wayne Campbell on shows like City Limits. This character later became very famous.
Saturday Night Live Star
Mike Myers joined Saturday Night Live (SNL) on January 21, 1989. He quickly became one of the show's most popular cast members. He was known for creating many funny and unique characters. These characters often had memorable catchphrases.

Mike Myers' Film Career
Mike Myers made his first movie when he and Dana Carvey turned their "Wayne's World" SNL sketches into a film. Wayne's World (1992) was a huge success. A sequel, Wayne's World 2, followed in 1993. That same year, Mike also starred in So I Married an Axe Murderer.
Austin Powers and Shrek
Mike became even more famous with the movie Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery (1997). He played both the main hero, Austin Powers, and the funny villain, Dr. Evil. He also played other characters in the sequels, Austin Powers in Goldmember (2002).
In 2001, Mike gave his voice to the lovable green ogre, Shrek, in the animated movie Shrek. He took over the role after the original voice actor, Chris Farley, passed away. Mike continued to voice Shrek in many more films and specials:

Mike is part of a band called Ming Tea. He plays with The Bangles' guitarist Susanna Hoffs and musician Matthew Sweet. They performed songs for the Austin Powers films.
In 2013, Mike directed his first documentary film, Supermensch: The Legend of Shep Gordon. It was shown at the Toronto International Film Festival.
From 2017 to 2018, Mike hosted a TV show called The Gong Show. He hosted it in heavy makeup as a fictional British host named Tommy Maitland.
Mike is a big fan of the comedy group Monty Python. In 2014, he appeared on stage with them during their live show, Monty Python Live (Mostly).
In 2016, Mike published a book called Canada. It's a memoir that also shares his thoughts on his home country's history and culture.
Mike Myers' Personal Life
Mike Myers married actress and writer Robin Ruzan in 1993. They later divorced in 2005.
In 2010, Mike married Kelly Tisdale in a private ceremony in New York City. Kelly is an artist. They have three children: a son and two daughters. They live in the Tribeca area of New York City.
Mike is a fan of the game Dungeons & Dragons. He also loves ice hockey and supports the Toronto Maple Leafs team. He even named characters in his first Austin Powers film after Maple Leafs players. He also supports the football team Liverpool FC, which is from his parents' hometown.
Mike has played in celebrity soccer games for charity, including Soccer Aid for UNICEF UK.
