Michael Anthony Williams (born June 26, 2004) is an American college basketball player. He plays for the UCF Knights. Before joining UCF, he played for Vertical Academy, Lake Norman Christian High School in North Carolina, and San Ysidro High School. He had planned to play for the Memphis Tigers.

Early Life and Basketball Beginnings
Mikey Williams first held a basketball when he was less than a year old. His parents guided him as he grew up playing the sport. He often played on an outdoor court near his home. In elementary school, Mikey loved basketball and spent a lot of time in the gym.
At 12 years old, on April 15, 2017, Mikey made his first official game dunk while playing for the San Diego Sharks. He then joined the Malcolm Thomas All-Stars travel team. In middle school, he was ranked as a top player for his age group. In eighth grade, Mikey joined the North Coast Blue Chips Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) team. He became well-known playing alongside Bronny James, the son of basketball star LeBron James. In 2019, he played for the Compton Magic on the AAU circuit.
High School Basketball Career
As a freshman, Mikey Williams played for San Ysidro High School in San Diego. On November 20, 2019, he played his first high school game. He scored 46 points, grabbed five rebounds, and made four assists and four steals. His team won 98–46 against El Cajon Valley High School. In his next game, Mikey scored 50 points in an 85–77 win over Mission Bay High School.
On December 13, he scored an amazing 77 points in a single game. He made nine three-pointers in a 116–52 win against Kearny High School. This broke the scoring record for the CIF San Diego Section (CIF-SDS). It also set a new state record for a freshman in one game.
On January 10, 2020, Mikey scored 35 points against Rancho Christian School. This team was one of the best in the country. He led San Ysidro to win the CIF-SDS Division III title on February 27. As a freshman, Mikey averaged nearly 30 points per game. He was named the MaxPreps National Freshman of the Year.
For his sophomore year, Williams moved to Lake Norman Christian School in Huntersville, North Carolina. On April 9, 2022, he announced he would return to San Diego. He played for his original high school, San Ysidro High School, for his senior year.
College Recruiting Process
Experts from 247Sports, ESPN, and Rivals considered Mikey Williams a four-star recruit for the 2023 class. He received offers from many top college teams. These offers came even before he started his high school career. In June 2020, Mikey showed interest in playing for a historically black colleges and universities (HBCU). After this, several HBCUs offered him basketball scholarships.
On November 5, 2022, Mikey Williams decided to play for the University of Memphis. He planned to start playing for coach Penny Hardaway in the 2023–24 season.

College Basketball Journey
Mikey Williams had committed to play for the University of Memphis. However, he did not join their basketball team for the 2023–24 season. On January 8, 2024, Mikey Williams and fellow Memphis freshman JJ Taylor decided to leave the team. They entered the NCAA transfer portal during the middle of the season.
Soon after, on January 12, 2024, Williams announced his decision. He shared that he was transferring to the University of Central Florida (UCF).
Personal Life and Family
Mikey Williams comes from a family of athletes. His father, Mahlon, played basketball for Sweetwater High School. He was a top player in the CIF-SDS section. Mikey's mother, Charisse, played softball for Kearny High School. She also played at Hampton University.
