The Mildred River is a river in Quebec, Canada. It flows into La Trêve Lake. This river is located in the Eeyou Istchee James Bay area, which is part of the Nord-du-Québec region.
As it flows, the river passes through several areas called townships, like Turgis and Julien. You can reach the Mildred River area by using Quebec route 113. This road connects Lebel-sur-Quévillon and Chibougamau, and it runs south of the river's mouth and La Trêve Lake.
The Mildred River usually freezes over from early November until mid-May. However, it's generally safe to be on the ice from mid-November to mid-April.

The River's Beginning
The Mildred River starts at a place called Wiki Lake. This lake is about 1.4 kilometres (0.87 mi) long and sits at an altitude of 365 metres (1,198 ft).
The start of the river is located:
- 6.5 kilometres (4.0 mi) south of the Assinica Wildlife Sanctuary.
- 37.2 kilometres (23.1 mi) northeast of where the Mildred River meets La Trêve Lake.
- 193.8 kilometres (120.4 mi) north of the town of Matagami.
The River's Journey
The Mildred River flows for about 53.4 kilometres (33.2 mi). Along its path, it goes through several lakes:
- It flows west for 4.9 kilometres (3.0 mi) into a bay on Lake Turgis.
- It then flows southwest for 3.1 kilometres (1.9 mi) into a bay on Lac aux Quatre Cornices.
- It crosses Lac aux Quatre Cornices (which is 4.3 kilometres (2.7 mi) long) for 3.7 kilometres (2.3 mi).
- It continues south for 10.1 kilometres (6.3 mi), passing through "Lac des Petites Plages" (5.5 kilometres (3.4 mi) long).
- It flows southwest and then west for 9.2 kilometres (5.7 mi), crossing Lake Thomelet (7.5 kilometres (4.7 mi) long).
- It then goes southwest for 9.8 kilometres (6.1 mi) to the edge of Mildred Lake.
- It crosses all of Mildred Lake (which is at an elevation of 337 metres (1,106 ft)) for 5.2 kilometres (3.2 mi).
- Finally, it flows south for 3.3 kilometres (2.1 mi) to its mouth.
The Mildred River ends by flowing into La Trêve Lake. From there, the water travels northwest to the Maicasagi River. The current then moves west to Maicasagi Lake. After that, the water flows southwest through the Max Passage into Goéland Lake. The Waswanipi River flows through Goéland Lake and eventually leads to Lake Matagami.

River Name History
The name "Mildred River" was officially recognized on December 5, 1968. This happened when the Commission de toponymie du Québec (Quebec's place name commission) was first created.
