Hector J. Peabody, usually called Mr. Peabody, is a smart cartoon dog. He acts a lot like a human. He first appeared in the TV show The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle and Friends in the late 1950s.

Mr. Peabody starred in short cartoons called "Peabody's Improbable History". In these, he and his adopted boy, Sherman, would travel through time. They used a special machine called the WABAC. Mr. Peabody was voiced by Bill Scott.

In 2014, Mr. Peabody and Sherman starred in a computer-animated movie. It was called Mr. Peabody & Sherman. Later, a TV series based on the movie came out from 2015 to 2017.

Mr. Peabody's first name, Hector, was only mentioned once. He told Sherman his full name in an old promotion.

Mr. Peabody and Sherman's Movie Adventure

A computer-animated movie about Mr. Peabody and Sherman was made by DreamWorks Animation. It was directed by Rob Minkoff, who also directed The Lion King. The film, Mr. Peabody & Sherman, came out on March 7, 2014.

In the movie, Ty Burrell voiced Mr. Peabody. Max Charles voiced Sherman. The story focused on Mr. Peabody and Sherman's close relationship. They were like a father and son.

The movie's plot involved many time-traveling accidents. These happened because of their WABAC machine. Mr. Peabody and Sherman had to fix history. They needed to put things right before time itself was broken.

Unlike the old TV show, Mr. Peabody adopted Sherman as a baby. He saw Sherman as his beloved son, not just a pet. The WABAC machine in the movie was also more advanced. It could even fly! A new character, Penny, was also introduced. She became Sherman's friend.

The Mr. Peabody & Sherman Show on Netflix

An animated TV series starring Mr. Peabody and Sherman started in October 2015. It was shown on Netflix. The show was called The Mr. Peabody & Sherman Show.

In this series, Mr. Peabody and Sherman host a talk show. They invite famous historical guests to their show. The series was inspired by the old 1960s cartoons. It also used some ideas from the 2014 movie.

Chris Parnell voiced Mr. Peabody in this series. Max Charles continued to voice Sherman. The show also explored Mr. Peabody's family. His foster parents appeared in one episode. His distant Uncle Duke also showed up in a time travel adventure.
