Mikkel Morgenstar Pålssønn "Mix" Diskerud (born October 2, 1990) is a professional soccer player. He plays as a midfielder. Mix was born in Norway. His mother is American and his father is Norwegian. He plays for the United States in international games. He has played 38 games and scored 6 goals for the U.S. national team since 2010. He was also part of their team for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
His mother gave him the nickname "Mix". She called him that because he was very energetic. When he was learning to walk, he ran around the house like a mixmaster.

Club Career
Early Years and Stabæk
Mix Diskerud was born in Oslo, Norway. He started playing soccer at a club called Frigg. Stabæk discovered him during a tournament in Oslo. He joined Stabæk's junior team in 2005. He also went to a special sports school.
From 2006, he played regularly for Stabæk's B team. In 2008, he helped the junior team win the Norwegian Junior Cup. He played his first game for the main team in 2008. This was a cup match against Vestfossen. In 2009, he scored a goal in his first game in the La Manga Cup. He also played in the Super Final, which is like a Super Cup. In his first league game for the main team, he came in as a substitute. He scored a goal in the 84th minute, making the game a 1–1 draw.
Moving to New Teams
In 2012, Diskerud was loaned to Belgian Pro League club Gent for a short time. Later that year, he moved to Tippeligaen club Rosenborg in Norway. He scored a goal for Rosenborg in the 2013 Norwegian Football Cup final. However, his team lost the game 4–2.
In January 2015, Diskerud signed with New York City in the United States. He scored New York City's first ever goal in MLS. This was in their first game, which was a draw against Orlando City. In March 2017, New York City ended his contract. He then went on loan to IFK Göteborg in Sweden.
Later Career Moves
In January 2018, Diskerud signed a contract with Premier League club Manchester City. He was expected to train with their youth team. Soon after, he was loaned back to IFK Göteborg until the end of that season.
On July 18, 2018, Diskerud was loaned to Ulsan Hyundai in South Korea for a year. In June 2020, he joined Helsingborgs IF in Sweden on a short loan. He faced some trouble after sending a tweet that fans did not like.
In January 2021, Diskerud signed with Denizlispor, a club in Turkey. On July 1, 2021, he moved to Omonia Nicosia in Cyprus. He helped Omonia win the Cypriot Cup two times, in 2022 and 2023. He played in the starting team for both finals. Diskerud left Omonia in June 2023.
International Career
Mix Diskerud's mother is from Arizona, USA. This meant he could play for the United States. He also had Norwegian citizenship, so he could play for Norway. When he was playing for Norway's youth team, the U.S. under-20 coach asked him if he had an American passport. Mix said yes.
In April 2008, he played in a tournament for the U.S. under-20 team. A month later, he played for Norway's under-18 team against the United States. He once said he would play for the first country that called him up.
Later, he decided to play for the United States. He said, "I am a Norwegian-American. I would love to play for both countries, but I can't." He scored his first goal for the U.S. under-20 team against Egypt in a friendly game.
Diskerud started playing for the senior U.S. team in 2010. He was part of the team that won the 2013 Gold Cup. He was also in the squad for the 2014 World Cup. However, he did not play in any games at that tournament. On September 10, 2013, he helped set up a goal for Landon Donovan in a World Cup Qualifier against Mexico. This was Donovan's last goal for the U.S. national team.
