Moiry is a small town, also called a municipality, in the canton of Vaud in Switzerland. It is part of the Morges area.

History of Moiry
Moiry was first written about in the year 1011. Back then, it was known as in villa Moriei. Later, in 1219, its name was recorded as Moirie.
Geography and Land Use
Moiry covers an area of about 6.67 square kilometers (2.58 square miles). This is roughly the size of 930 football fields!
How the Land is Used
A big part of Moiry's land, about 41.5%, is used for farming. This means lots of fields for growing crops and pastures for animals.
Even more of the land, about 55.3%, is covered by forests. These are important for nature and provide homes for many animals.
Only a small part, about 3.1%, has buildings or roads. This is where people live and move around.

Moiry is located on the right side of the Venoge river. This river flows through the area.
Until 2006, Moiry was part of the Cossonay District. Then, it became part of the new Morges district.
Moiry's Coat of Arms
The coat of arms for Moiry is quite special. It shows a red heart on a gold background. Above the heart, there are three gold stars on a red stripe.
