Mollie Elizabeth King (born 4 June 1987) is a famous English pop singer, songwriter, and radio presenter. She is best known as a member of the popular girl group The Saturdays.

With The Saturdays, Mollie had many successful songs. They had 13 songs in the Top 10 and eight in the Top 5. Their song "What About Us" even reached number one in the UK. The group also released five albums that made it into the Top 10. Before joining The Saturdays, Mollie was in another girl group called Fallen Angelz. They appeared on the TV show The X Factor. In 2015, Mollie signed a solo music deal with Island Records.

In 2017, Mollie was a contestant on the BBC show Strictly Come Dancing. She danced with professional partner AJ Pritchard. They made it to the semi-final, finishing in fifth place. In 2018, Mollie started a new job at BBC Radio 1. She began co-hosting a show with Matt Edmondson on weekends.

Mollie King was born in Wandsworth, London, England. She is the youngest of three daughters. Her sisters are Laura Ann and Ellen Catherine. Mollie went to Surbiton High School in London.

Mollie was a very good skier when she was younger. By age 11, she was part of the British Children's Ski Team. She even received a scholarship to the British Ski Academy. Mollie raced for Great Britain and was one of the youngest on the team. She later skied for the British Alpine squad. However, she decided to follow her dream of becoming a singer instead of a ski career. Mollie also did well in her school studies. She earned top grades in Psychology, Business and Economics, and Sport. This was impressive because she has Dyslexia.

Becoming a Pop Star with The Saturdays

Since 2007, Mollie has been a member of the successful girl group The Saturdays. The group became very popular in the UK. They had 13 songs reach the Top 10 on the music charts. They also released four albums that made it into the Top 10.

Their first song, "If This Is Love", came out in July 2008. It reached number eight in the UK. Their second song, "Up", charted at number five. It even earned a Silver Disc award. In October 2008, they released their first album, Chasing Lights. This album reached number nine and was certified platinum. This means it sold a lot of copies!

The Saturdays released more hit songs like "Issues" and a cover of "Just Can't Get Enough". This cover song reached number two in the UK. They also went on their first tour called The Work Tour. In 2009, their second album, Wordshaker, came out. It also reached number nine. Their song "Forever Is Over" from this album charted at number two.

The group continued to release new music. In 2010, they released a mini-album called Headlines!. This album reached number three in the UK. Their songs "Missing You" and "Higher" were big hits. They even worked with the rapper Flo Rida on "Higher". Their third studio album, On Your Radar, came out later. It included Top 10 songs like "All Fired Up" and "Notorious". In December 2011, The Saturdays went on their first arena tour.

In 2012, The Saturdays released "30 Days", which reached number seven. They also moved to Los Angeles for a short time. They hoped to become famous in America. A reality TV show called Chasing The Saturdays followed their journey. The show premiered in January 2013.

In March 2013, The Saturdays released "What About Us" with rapper Sean Paul. This song became their first number one hit! It was also one of the best-selling songs of that year. Later, "Gentleman" and "Disco Love" were released. Both songs charted in the Top 15. Their album Living for the Weekend became their fourth Top 10 album. The group took a break in 2014. They released a greatest hits album called Finest Selection: The Greatest Hits.

Mollie's Solo Music Career

On 11 October 2015, Mollie King announced she had signed a solo music deal. She joined Island Records. Her first solo song, "Back to You", was released on 19 August 2016. On 24 August 2017, Mollie announced her new song, "Hair Down". It was released on 1 September.

Mollie also helped write a song for the pop group Steps. The song is called "To the Beat of My Heart". It was released in 2020.

Television Appearances

Mollie King has appeared on many TV shows. She was in some episodes of Hollyoaks Later. As part of The Saturdays, she appeared in the BBC series Myths. Mollie also appeared on The King is Dead and Never Mind the Buzzcocks. She and her bandmates also looked for ghosts on Ghosthunting with.... They had their own reality show called The Saturdays: 24/7. In 2013, they starred in Chasing The Saturdays. This show followed them as they tried to become famous in America.

On 7 August 2017, Mollie was announced as a contestant on Strictly Come Dancing. She danced with AJ Pritchard. They were eliminated in the semi-final on 10 December 2017.

Mollie also guest-presented the children's TV show Blue Peter in January 2018. She has also presented on Lorraine and This Morning.

Brand Deals and Books

In 2009, The Saturdays became the faces of hair removal product Veet. They also promoted Impulse deodorant. The group filmed a TV ad for Impulse. They also worked with T-Mobile. In 2013, Mollie created a clothing collection for Oasis Stores. She also designed shoes to help raise money for the charity Save The Children. Mollie was an ambassador for Maybelline during London Fashion Week. In 2017, she became the face of the Christmas campaign for Boux Avenue lingerie.

In 2010, The Saturdays published their autobiography. It was called The Saturdays: Our Story. The book was released on 25 October 2010. It shared stories about their success. Helping Others: Charity Work

In September 2018, Mollie was nominated for 'Best New Presenter' at the Audio and Radio Industry Awards (ARIAS). Mollie and Matt co-hosted the Radio 1 weekend breakfast show from November 2018 to January 2021. Since then, they have presented the weekend afternoon show. In May 2024, they moved to weekdays.

Mollie has also presented other radio shows. These include Radio 1's Best New Pop and Future Pop.

Mollie's Personal Life

Mollie King is engaged to England cricketer Stuart Broad. He proposed to her on 1 January 2021. In June 2022, Mollie announced she was expecting a baby with Stuart. In November 2022, they welcomed their first daughter. Mollie announced in August 2024 that she is expecting their second child. In January 2025, they welcomed their second daughter.
