Monacillo is a neighborhood, also called a "barrio," in the city of San Juan, Puerto Rico. San Juan is the capital city of Puerto Rico, which is a commonwealth of the United States. Monacillo is one of 18 barrios that make up the municipality of San Juan.
In 2010, about 11,442 people lived in Monacillo. The land area of the barrio is about 1.15 square miles (2.98 square kilometers). A part of Monacillo is now its own barrio called Monacillo Urbano.
Monacillo is surrounded by other areas. To the north, you'll find Monacillo Urbano. To the east is Cupey, and to the south is Caimito. To the west, Monacillo borders the nearby municipality of Guaynabo.
