Monica Samille Lewinsky (born July 23, 1973) is an American activist. She became widely known in the late 1990s because of her connection to U.S. President Bill Clinton. This happened when she was a young intern working at the White House between 1995 and 1997. The events that followed, including President Clinton's impeachment, became known as the Clinton–Lewinsky scandal.
After this period, Lewinsky explored different career paths. She designed a line of handbags and worked as a spokesperson for a diet plan. She also appeared on television. In 2006, she earned a master's degree in psychology from the London School of Economics. Since 2014, Monica Lewinsky has been an important voice in the fight against cyberbullying.

Early Life and Education
Monica Lewinsky was born in San Francisco, California. She grew up in a wealthy family in Southern California, first in Brentwood and later in Beverly Hills. Her father, Bernard Lewinsky, is a doctor who specializes in cancer care. His parents were German Jews who left Nazi Germany and eventually settled in the United States.
Her mother, Marcia Lewis, is an author. Monica's grandparents on her mother's side were also Jewish, with roots in Lithuania and Russia. Her parents divorced in 1988 and both later remarried.
School Days
Monica attended Sinai Akiba Academy, a school connected to Sinai Temple in Los Angeles. For her early education, she went to the John Thomas Dye School in Bel-Air. She spent three years at Beverly Hills High School before moving to Bel Air Prep, where she graduated in 1991.
After high school, Lewinsky attended Santa Monica College. During this time, she also worked for the drama department at Beverly Hills High School and at a tie shop. In 1993, she enrolled at Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon. She earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from there in 1995.
White House Internship
With some help from a family connection, Monica Lewinsky got an unpaid summer internship at the White House. She worked in the office of the White House Chief of Staff, Leon Panetta. Lewinsky moved to Washington, D.C., and started her internship in July 1995. By December 1995, she moved to a paid position in the White House Office of Legislative Affairs.
Public Attention and Activism
In the 1990s, Monica Lewinsky gained significant public attention. This happened when American President Bill Clinton acknowledged a relationship with her while she was a White House intern. This event became widely known as the Clinton–Lewinsky scandal and led to President Clinton's impeachment.
After these events, Lewinsky explored various activities. She launched a line of handbags and worked as a spokesperson for a diet program. She also had a career as a television personality. Later, Lewinsky decided to step away from the public eye to study for a master's degree in psychology in London.
