Martyn Bernard "Moochie" Norris, born on July 27, 1973, is an American former professional basketball player. He played for several teams in the National Basketball Association (NBA) and other leagues. Today, he is the head coach for the Houston Push team in The Basketball League (TBL).

Moochie Norris: A Basketball Journey
Moochie Norris had an exciting basketball career. He played for many different teams, showing his skills as a point guard. He was known for his unique style and dedication to the game.
College Basketball Years
Before turning pro, Moochie played college basketball. He attended Odessa College from 1992 to 1994. Then, he played for Auburn University in 1994–1995. His final college year was at the University of West Florida from 1995 to 1996.
Starting His Professional Career
In 1996, Moochie Norris was chosen in the 1996 NBA draft. The Milwaukee Bucks picked him as the 33rd player overall. Even though he was drafted, he did not play for the Bucks. Later that year, he signed with the Vancouver Grizzlies.
After his time with the Grizzlies, Moochie played for the Fort Wayne Fury in the Continental Basketball Association (CBA). He did very well there, even earning a spot on the CBA All-Rookie Second Team. He returned to the Fury for several seasons. He was named to the All-CBA Second Team in 1998 and the First Team in 2000.
Playing in the NBA
Moochie Norris played in the NBA from 1999 to the 2005–06 season. He played for several well-known teams:

Later Career and Coaching
After his NBA career, Moochie continued to play basketball. He joined the Yakama Sun Kings in the CBA in 2007. He also played for an Italian club called Climamio Bologna for a few months. In 2008, he led the CBA in assists and was again named to the All-CBA First Team.
In 2017, Moochie Norris was chosen in the 2017 Big3 draft. He played for the team called Power and later for the Ball Hogs.
Coaching Young Players
Moochie Norris loves basketball so much that he decided to become a coach. He enjoys teaching young players. He helped the coaching staff at Victory Prep Academy in Houston, Texas. He still trains young athletes in Houston through his "Moochie" Norris Workouts.
Coaching the Houston Push
Since 2021, Moochie Norris has been the head coach for the Houston Push. This team plays in The Basketball League (TBL).
Moochie's Personal Life and Nickname
Moochie Norris got his unique nickname from his grandfather. His grandfather loved the song "Minnie the Moocher" by Cab Calloway.
Moochie was also famous for his large afro hairstyle during his playing days. He even had a special bobblehead doll made of him in 2002 while he was with the Houston Rockets. The bobblehead had a synthetic afro, just like his real hair! He also dealt with insomnia, which means having trouble sleeping, for many years.
