Moominvalley (Finnish: Muumilaakso, Swedish: Mumindalen) is a popular animated TV show. It started in 2019. This series is based on the famous Moomin books and comics. These were created by Tove Jansson and her brother Lars Jansson.
The show uses cool new 3D computer animation (CGI). It was made by a Finnish company called Gutsy Animations. They even raised money for the show through a special online campaign.
Moominvalley is Finland's most expensive TV show ever made. It cost about €20 million to produce. When the first episode came out, it was the most watched program. Many people watched it on Finland's national streaming service, Yle Areena.

Meet the Moominvalley Characters
The main character of the show is Moomintroll. He is a curious and kind young Moomin. Moomintroll is sensitive and always tries to do the right thing. He is like a typical hero in a story about growing up.
Moomintroll lives with his loving parents, Moominmamma and Moominpappa. He has many friends who join him on his adventures. These include the free-spirited Snufkin, the energetic Little My, and the dreamy Snorkmaiden. There's also the sometimes scared Sniff, and many other fun characters.

Music in Moominvalley
The music for the first season was created by Finnish musicians Pekka Kuusisto and Samuli Kosminen. Interestingly, Pekka's father had also composed music for the Moomins back in 1974.
The official soundtrack for Moominvalley was released on April 19, 2019. For season 2, Jarmo Saari joined Samuli Kosminen and Pekka Kuusisto as composers.

A third season of Moominvalley was released on January 12, 2022.
Where to Watch Moominvalley Around the World
Moominvalley first aired in Finland on February 25, 2019. It was shown on Yle TV2 and Yle Teema & Fem. In the United Kingdom, the show started on Sky One, Sky Kids, and NOW TV in April 2019.
Japan's national broadcaster NHK also started showing Moominvalley in April 2019. The series has even been sold to China. You can also find episodes on WildBrain's YouTube channel. In the UK, the series is also shown on BBC Alba. There, it is dubbed in Scottish Gaelic.
