Rosamund Mary Ellen Pike (born in 1979) is an English actress and producer. She is famous for playing strong women in exciting movies and TV shows. Rosamund has won many awards, including a Primetime Emmy Award and a Golden Globe Award. She has also been nominated for an Academy Award and two BAFTA Awards.
Pike studied at Wadham College, Oxford. Before becoming a film star, she acted in plays like Romeo and Juliet at the National Youth Theatre. Early Life and Education
Rosamund Pike was born in 1979 in Hammersmith, London. She is the only child of opera singers Julian Pike and Caroline Friend.
She went to Badminton School in Bristol. While acting as Juliet in a play of Romeo and Juliet at the National Youth Theatre, an agent noticed her. This helped her start her professional acting career.
After being turned down by drama schools, she got a place to study English literature at Wadham College, Oxford. She graduated in 2001 with a good degree. She took a year off during her studies to act in plays. This gave her experience in works by famous writers like David Hare, Arthur Miller, and William Shakespeare.

While still at Oxford, Pike acted in and directed various plays. She appeared in British TV shows like A Rather English Marriage (1998) and Wives and Daughters (1999). She also appeared in an episode of Foyle's War.
After graduating, she landed a major role as a Bond girl and MI6 agent, Miranda Frost, in the James Bond film Die Another Day (2002). She was the first Bond girl to have studied at Oxford. Personal Life
Rosamund Pike has been in a relationship with businessman Robie Uniacke since December 2009. They have two sons. Her children are fluent in Mandarin. The family lives in Prague. In 2015, when visiting China, Pike shared that Uniacke gave her a Chinese name, 裴淳华 (Péi Chúnhuá). She mentioned that they admire Chinese culture and would like the media to use this Chinese name for her.
Activism and Views
In 2015, Pike signed an open letter from the ONE Campaign. This letter asked leaders like Angela Merkel to focus on women's issues. The goal was to help set new development goals for the future at a United Nations summit.
In 2021, Pike became the first Ambassador for Mines Advisory Group (MAG). MAG is an organization that helps people affected by landmines and other dangerous leftover weapons. They won the Nobel Peace Prize for their work.
In a 2023 interview, Pike shared her thoughts on the "wellness industry." She believes that people are being "conned" by the idea that being healthy isn't enough and that they must be "well." She called this idea "really dangerous."
