Kate Elizabeth Winslet (born 5 October 1975) is a famous English actress. She is known for playing strong characters, especially in period dramas. Kate Winslet has won many important awards. These include an Academy Award, a Grammy Award, two Primetime Emmy Awards, five BAFTA Awards, and five Golden Globe Awards.

Kate Elizabeth Winslet was born on 5 October 1975. Her parents were Sally Anne and Roger John Winslet. She grew up in Reading, Berkshire, England. Her family had actors, including her grandparents. Her mother worked as a nanny and waitress. Her father was an actor who took other jobs to support the family. Kate has two sisters, Anna and Beth, who are also actresses. She also has a younger brother, Joss.
