Staying Safe in the Mountains

When exploring mountains like Mount Febbas, it's important to be prepared. The Wind River Range is home to wildlife, including bears. It's always a good idea to know how to act safely around them.

Weather and Nature's Challenges

Hikers and climbers might also face other challenges. These include bugs, wildfires, and tricky snow conditions. Even in summer, nights can get very cold, so warm clothing is a must.

Being Careful on Steep Paths

Some parts of the mountain have very steep cliffs. It's important to be careful and watch your step. There have been times when people have had accidents due to falls or falling rocks. For example, in 2005, a backpacker needed help near SquareTop Mountain. In 2006, another hiker had an accident. These events remind us to always be careful and prepared when exploring the mountains.
