Mountain Home Village is a small, quiet community located in San Bernardino County, California. It is an unincorporated community, which means it doesn't have its own city government. Instead, it is managed by the county. As of 2010, about 170 people live here full-time.
This village is nestled in the beautiful San Bernardino Mountains. It sits right on the edge of the famous San Andreas Fault. From Mountain Home Village, you can enjoy amazing views of the valley below. On clear days, you can even see the City of San Bernardino in the distance.

Location and Natural Features
Mountain Home Village is found along California State Route 38. It is about 5.2 miles (8.4 km) north-northeast of Yucaipa. The village is surrounded by a lovely pine forest. It is also part of the larger San Bernardino National Forest.
Nearby Attractions
There are many cool places to explore close to Mountain Home Village. The Thurman Flats Picnic Area is less than a mile east. You can also find the Loch Leven and Mill Creek Campgrounds right in the village. These are great spots for outdoor adventures.
Creeks and Waterways
Several creeks meet or flow through this area. Mill Creek and Mountain Home Creek join together here. Mountain Home Creek starts from Lake Shadow, near Angelus Oaks. Other creeks in the area include Skinner Creek, East Fork Mountain Home Creek, and Frustration Creek.
Rock Climbing and Hiking
If you like rock climbing, the Mentone Boulders are located nearby. This is a well-known spot for climbers. For those who enjoy walking or exploring, there are also many hiking trails around the village. These trails let you discover the natural beauty of the mountains.
History of the Village
Mountain Home Village has an elevation of about 3,600 feet (1,097 meters). In 1956, a Christian group called the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) bought a resort in the village. They turned it into the Loch Leven Camp & Retreat Center. This center has been a place for gatherings and retreats ever since.
