Shane Lee Lindstrom (born February 11, 1994), known professionally as Murda Beatz, is a talented music producer and songwriter from Ontario, Canada. He mostly creates hip hop and trap songs. Since 2011, he has helped create many hit songs and albums for famous artists.

Some of his well-known songs include "Butterfly Effect" by Travis Scott, "Back on Road" by Gucci Mane, "Nice for What" by Drake, and "Motorsport" by Migos. He is also famous for appearing with Nicki Minaj on 6ix9ine's 2018 song "Fefe". This song became very popular, reaching number three on the music charts in both Canada and the United States.

Murda Beatz signed with Interscope Records to release his first song as a lead artist, "Shopping Spree," in 2019. It featured Lil Pump and Sheck Wes. He has also worked on songs and mixtapes with other artists like Smokepurpp, MadeinTYO, 24hrs, G Herbo, and PnB Rock. When you hear his songs, you might recognize his special sound tag: "Murda on the beat so it's not nice!"

Early Life and Music Journey

Shane Lindstrom grew up in Fort Erie, Ontario, which is close to Buffalo. His family loved music, and he started playing drums when he was a kid. When he was 17 and still in high school, he began making his own music beats using a computer program called FL Studio. He chose the name "Murda Beatz" to share his music on YouTube.

When he turned 18, he moved to Chicago. There, he started working with rising artists like Chief Keef and Lil Durk. Shane shared that he met many of his first music partners through social media and friends. Later, he connected with the rap group Migos from Atlanta. He even moved in with them to focus on producing their music.

Murda Beatz is special because he sometimes appears as a main artist on the songs he produces. This is similar to other famous producers like DJ Khaled. He decided to become a "producer-artist" so he could have more control over his music and release it when he wanted, without waiting for other artists.

His first mixtape, called Keep God First, came out in December 2016. In the summer of 2018, he even opened shows for G-Eazy on tour. His first song as a lead artist, "Shopping Spree," was released in 2019. He released another song, "Banana Split," in March 2020, featuring YNW Melly and Lil Durk. He also started his own music company, Murda Beatz Recordings, in 2019.

In 2021, Murda Beatz was recognized in the prestigious Forbes 30 Under 30 list for his achievements in music.
