Shane Lee Lindstrom (born February 11, 1994), known as Murda Beatz, is a Canadian music producer. He creates hip hop and trap music. Since 2011, he has made hit songs and albums for many famous artists.

Some of his well-known songs include "Butterfly Effect" by Travis Scott and "Nice for What" by Drake. He is also famous for being featured on 6ix9ine's 2018 song "Fefe" with Nicki Minaj. That song reached number three on the music charts in both Canada and the US.

Murda Beatz signed with Interscope Records and released his first single, "Shopping Spree," in 2019. It featured artists Lil Pump and Sheck Wes. He has also worked on songs and mixtapes with artists like Smokepurpp and G Herbo. You might recognize his producer tag, which says, "Murda on the beat so it's not nice!"

Early Life and Music Start

Shane Lindstrom grew up in Fort Erie, Ontario, Canada. His family loved music, and he played drums when he was a kid. When he was 17, still in high school, he started making beats. He used a computer program called FL Studio. He picked the name "Murda Beatz" to share his music on YouTube.

When he turned 18, he moved to Chicago. There, he worked with popular artists like Chief Keef and Lil Durk. Lindstrom met many of his first artists through social media and friends. Later, he connected with the rap group Migos from Atlanta. He even moved in with them to produce their music.

Becoming a Producer-Artist

Murda Beatz is special because he sometimes appears as an artist on the songs he produces. This is similar to how DJ Khaled or Mustard work. He decided to become a "producer-artist" to have more control over his music. This way, he could release songs when he wanted, instead of waiting for other artists.

He released his first mixtape, Keep God First, in December 2016. In the summer of 2018, he opened shows for G-Eazy on tour. His first single as a main artist, "Shopping Spree," came out in 2019. He released another single, "Banana Split," in March 2020. It featured YNW Melly and Lil Durk.

In 2019, Lindstrom started his own record label called Murda Beatz Recordings. He signed a singer named Adam Halliday to his label. In 2021, Forbes magazine recognized him in their "30 Under 30" list for music.

Personal Life

In June 2022, Lindstrom started dating Brazilian singer Anitta. They were together for about two months.
