Mustafa Şentop, born on August 6, 1968, is a Turkish politician. He is a member of the Justice and Development Party (AKP). He has served as a Member of Parliament for many years.
On February 24, 2019, he was chosen as the 29th Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. This is a very important role in the Turkish government.

Mustafa Şentop's Early Life and Education
Mustafa Şentop was born in Tekirdağ, Turkey, on August 6, 1968. He studied law at Istanbul University. After that, he earned a master's degree and a doctorate. He specialized in public law at Marmara University.
In 1993, he began working at Marmara University. He was a research assistant in the Faculty of Law. He became a professor in 2011. He also taught at other universities. He held several leadership roles at Marmara University. He wrote and edited for various journals. He was also a leader at the Economic and Social Research Centre in Istanbul.
Mustafa Şentop's Political Journey
Mustafa Şentop joined the Justice and Development Party (AKP). He was elected to the party's main decision-making committee. From 2012 to 2015, he served as a Deputy Chairman of the AKP.
He became a Member of Parliament for Istanbul. Later, he represented Tekirdağ. He served in the Turkish Parliament for several terms.
He also worked on the Committee on the Constitution. This committee helps create and change the country's laws. He was the Chairman of this committee for a time.
In 2019, he became the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. This is like being the president of the parliament. He was re-elected for a second term in 2020. He spoke out against the peace agreement between Israel and the United Arab Emirates. He called it a betrayal of the Palestinian cause.
