Nataly Rivera, known as Naëla, is a singer, author, and songwriter from Bogota, Colombia. She started her music career in 2010. Her first big moment was opening for the Mexican group Camila in Bogota. After that, she released her first song, "No Quiero Estar Sin Ti", from her first album, also called Naëla. In 2011, she released two more popular songs from the album: "Esta Noche Mando Yo" and "Muero Por Amarte".

Career

Early Music Journey: 2009–2010

Naëla first performed her music on December 10, 2009. This special show took place at the Hard Rock Cafe in Bogota. Over 300 guests, including journalists and friends, came to see her.

On February 16, 2010, she released her first song, "No Quiero Estar Sin Ti". This song was from her first album. It became very successful. This success led her to appear on TV shows. She was on Canal Caracol's Tierra De Cantores and Canal RCN's La Pola. She even won the Dj TV Awards in 2010 for Best Female National Artist.

New Songs and Debut Album: 2011

On March 21, 2011, Naëla released her second song, "Muero Por Amarte". The music video for this song came out the next day. It was directed by Leo Carreño. The song was released in different styles, like Electro Soka and Club Dance. It reached number 9 on the National Latin Top 20 chart.

She was also invited to celebrate the anniversary of El Tiempo newspaper. Other artists like Jorge Celedón were there too.

On May 11, 2011, Naëla was chosen to open for the Mexican group Camila in Bogota. She sang her own songs and a version of "Equivocada" by Thalía. After opening for Camila, Naëla reached number 1 on the National Top 10. She was alongside famous artists like Enrique Iglesias and Luis Fonsi.

On September 11, 2011, Naëla released her third song, "Esta Noche Mando Yo". She sang this song with Obie-P. This song reached number 9 on the National Latino Top 30 chart. A few weeks later, it climbed to number 5. The audio video was released in September, and the official music video came out in 2012.

On November 19, Naëla released her first album, also called Naëla. It had 11 songs. She wrote and produced her first four songs herself, with help from Mauricio Rivera and Carlos Agüera.

Growing Success: 2012-2014

In January 2012, singer Franco De Vita invited Naëla to sing his hit song "Tan Sólo Tú". Naëla's song "Esta Noche Mando Yo" became popular in Ecuador. In her home country, Colombia, it was among the top 10 songs. Later, Naëla released a new version of her fourth song, "Por Tu Amor". This version was urban style and featured P.N.O. from Tres Coronas. The music video was filmed in Bogota and Ibagué. It came out on May 16, 2012, and quickly became a top video on music channels.

Because "Por Tu Amor" was so popular, RCN TV invited Naëla to appear on their show Protagonistas de Nuestra Tele. She performed her hit "Esta Noche Mando Yo".

Naëla was also a judge on the TV show Sábados Felices on Caracol TV. She supported the "Al Paso Con Los Valores" campaign.

Naëla was nominated for the Shock Award in Colombia. She was nominated for Best New Solo Artist for her song "Esta Noche Mando Yo".

On September 6, 2012, Naëla released "Falso Amor". This was the first song from her next album, which was planned for 2013. Naëla wrote and produced "Falso Amor" with White Shark and her brother, Mauricio Rivera. The music video was released on October 29, 2012. Naëla helped direct it.

Naëla went on a tour to promote "Falso Amor". She visited different media outlets and performed at shows and charity concerts. Her second album was expected in March 2013.

On April 21, 2013, Naëla announced she would be part of the Billboard Latin Music Awards meetings in Miami, Florida. She joined artists like Carlos Vives, Alejandra Guzmán, and Gloria Estefan.

She released "Sin Mirar Atrás" as the second song from her second album, Imparable. This album was produced by Luis Fernando Ochoa, who is known for working with Shakira.

Naëla released "Quizas" as her first song specifically for Spain. It premiered on July 1 on Cadena Dial. On September 18, she confirmed "Besar El Cielo" would be the next song from the album.

Carlos Vives chose Naëla to open for his Corazón Profundo Tour in Madrid and Barcelona in October.

In May 2014, she performed twice at the Evento 40. This event was organized by the radio station Los 40 Principales. She sang songs from her album Imparable. On September 8, she released a new song, "Bazar". This was a cover of a song by the Mexican group Flans. On September 22, 2014, she released her first remix album, The Remixes. It had remixes of songs from her second album.

Naëla was nominated for the Premios 40 America by Los 40 Principales in Argentina. She was nominated for Best Artist or Group of Colombia. She was the only Colombian female artist nominated in this category.

New Album: 2015-Present

On March 3, 2015, Naëla was invited by the King of Spain Felipe VI of Spain and Queen Letizia of Spain to a special dinner. The President of Colombia Juan Manuel Santos and his wife were also there, along with footballers James Rodríguez and Carlos Bacca.

In early 2015, Naëla shared details about her new album on social media. She used the hashtag #RenacerNaela, confirming her third album would be called Renacer (Naëla album). On May 29, she announced the first song from this album would be "Cada Momento". It was released on June 9 online. The music video for "Cada Momento" was released on her official YouTube channel the same day.

On July 31, 2015, she announced she would perform at the KeBuena Summer Festival in Spain. Other artists like Keymass & Bonche and Rasel also performed.

On December 4, to remember John Lennon of The Beatles, Naëla teamed up with Spanish singer Bely Basarte. They performed an acoustic cover of Lennon's famous song "Imagine". This cover gained many positive comments online.

In late February, Naëla started sharing teasers for her third album, Renacer. These videos showed themes of FEELING, PERCEPTION, and MATERIALITY.
