Narrung is a small town and area in the state of South Australia. It sits on the northern tip of the Narrung Peninsula. This peninsula acts like a natural wall, separating The Coorong from Lake Albert. Right next to Narrung is a narrow channel called The Narrows. This channel connects Lake Albert to the much larger Lake Alexandrina.
The Narrung area is also home to Raukkan. This is an important community for the Aboriginal people, specifically the Ngarrindjeri group.
Where is Narrung Located?
Narrung is part of a larger region in South Australia. It belongs to the Coorong District Council, which is like its local government. This council helps manage local services and facilities.
Political Representation
For state government matters, Narrung is in the MacKillop area. This means people in Narrung vote for a representative in the state parliament from this district.
At the national level, Narrung is part of the Barker. This is a federal division, and people here vote for a representative in the Australian Parliament.
