New Albin is a small city in Iowa, United States. It's found in Allamakee County, right in Iowa Township. This city is special because it's the very northeasternmost town in Iowa. It sits close to the mighty Mississippi River and the border of Minnesota. In 2020, about 432 people lived there.

History of New Albin
New Albin was officially planned and laid out in 1872. This happened soon after the Chicago, Dubuque and Minnesota Railroad built its tracks through the area.
The town was named after the son of a railroad official. Sadly, this boy passed away from burns after falling into a bonfire. In 1936, Highway 26 (which was first called Highway 182) was built through New Albin.
