New Milford is a small village located in Winnebago County, Illinois, in the United States. It sits on the south side of the Kishwaukee River, looking towards the city of Rockford. New Milford is part of the larger Rockford area. In 2010, about 697 people lived there, which was more than the 541 people in 2000. By 2020, the population grew to 794 people.

New Milford is on the southern edge of the Rockford city area. It is located right next to the Chicago Rockford International Airport on its east side. Also, Interstate 39, a major highway, is just to the west.
The village is trying to grow by adding more land, especially towards the Interstate 39/Baxter Road highway exit. This expansion would help New Milford create new business opportunities and keep the city of Rockford from completely surrounding it.
