Nezperce is a small city located in Lewis County, Idaho, in the United States. It serves as the county seat, which means it's the main town where the county government is located. In 2010, about 466 people called Nezperce home.
The city got its name from the local Nez Perce tribe of Native Americans. The name "Nezperce" comes from a French phrase, nez percé, which means "pierced nose." There is one school district in the city, called Nezperce School District #302.
Where is Nezperce Located?
Nezperce is found in a part of Idaho known as the Camas Prairie. This area is known for its rolling hills and open spaces.
The city covers a total area of about 0.40 square miles (1.11 square kilometers), and all of it is land. Several important roads meet in Nezperce, including Idaho State Highway 64, 62, and 162.
