Nicholas Simon Augustine Knowles, born on September 21, 1962, is a well-known English television presenter. He is also a writer and a musician. Nick is famous for hosting many TV shows. Some of his popular shows include DIY SOS, Who Dares Wins, and Real Rescues. He has been on TV since 1987.

About Nick Knowles
Early Life and Education
Nick Knowles was born in Southall, Middlesex, England. When he was 11, his family moved to Mildenhall in Suffolk. He went to St Louis Middle School there. Later, his family moved again, and he attended Gunnersbury Catholic School for Boys.
After another move to Tonbridge, he went to the Skinners' School in Tunbridge Wells, Kent. He did well in school, passing eight O-levels. He was also very good at rugby.
Starting His Career
Nick left school at 16 and took on various first jobs. He worked as a labourer, a petrol station assistant, and a salesman. From the age of 14, he played in bands. He also spent a lot of time writing music, poetry, and comedy. His big break came when he sent a script to a BBC2 show. This show invited young people to create a video.
Nick's Television Career
Becoming a TV Presenter
Nick Knowles started his TV journey behind the scenes. He worked as a "runner" in television production. This job involves helping out with many tasks on set. Later, he moved into presenting. He became a reporter for TVS in the South East. He reported on their nightly news show, Coast to Coast.
Hosting Popular Shows
Nick is best known as the main host of DIY SOS. This show helps people renovate their homes. It has been on BBC One since 1999. He also presented the BBC factual show Real Rescues for many years.

From April 2019, he presented Home Is Where the Art Is. This show challenged artists to create artwork for people they had never met. In 2021, he also hosted Nick Knowles' Big House Clearout on Channel 5.
In September 2024, Nick was a contestant on Strictly Come Dancing. He danced with professional dancer Luba Mushtuk. He had an injury before his second dance. Despite this, he performed well. He was eliminated in the fourth week of the competition.
