Nicholas Simon Augustine Knowles (born 21 September 1962) is a well-known English television presenter, writer, and musician. He is famous for hosting many TV shows. Some of his most popular shows include DIY SOS, Who Dares Wins, and Real Rescues.

Early Life and School Days
Nick Knowles was born in Southall, Middlesex, England. When he was 11, his family moved to Mildenhall in Suffolk. He went to St Louis Middle School. Later, he attended Gunnersbury Catholic School for Boys. After another family move, he went to the Skinners' School in Tunbridge Wells, Kent. He did well in school, especially in Rugby.
After leaving school at 16, Nick had several early jobs. He worked as a labourer and a petrol station assistant. From age 14, he loved playing in bands. He also enjoyed writing music, poems, and comedy. His big break came when he sent a script to a BBC2 show. This show invited young people to create a video.

Television Shows
Nick Knowles started his TV career behind the scenes. He worked as a "runner" in TV production. This means he helped with small tasks on set. Later, he became a reporter for TVS. He reported on the news show Coast To Coast.
He is best known as the main host of DIY SOS. This show helps people renovate their homes. It has been on BBC One since 1999. He also presented the BBC factual show Real Rescues. Nick has hosted many other popular BBC shows. These include game shows like Who Dares Wins and Perfection. He also hosted Secret Fortune and Break the Safe.
Nick has also presented shows about wildlife. In 2007, he led Mission Africa. In this show, volunteers built a game reserve in Kenya. He even reported on orphaned orangutans for Saving Planet Earth. In 2009, he co-presented Wildest Dreams. This show challenged new filmmakers to film wild animals in Africa. The winner got to work with the BBC Natural History Unit.
From 2011 to 2015, Nick hosted Perfection. This game show required contestants to be perfect to win. He also presented Break the Safe from 2013 to 2014. In 2015, he started hosting 5-Star Family Reunion. This show was also a game show for families.
In 2018, Nick took part in I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!. He finished in sixth place on the show. From 2019, he presented Home Is Where the Art Is. This show challenged artists to create art for people they didn't know.
In 2021, there was a discussion with the BBC about an advert Nick appeared in. The issue was resolved, and he continued to host DIY SOS. Later in 2021, he presented Nick Knowles' Big House Clearout on Channel 5.
In September 2024, Nick was a contestant on Strictly Come Dancing. He was partnered with dancer Luba Mushtuk. During the show, he injured his shoulder. Despite the injury, he continued to dance. He was eliminated in the fourth week of the competition.

Music Career
Nick Knowles released his first music album called Every Kind Of People. It came out on 3 November 2017. The album reached number 92 on the UK Albums Chart.
Nick Knowles' Personal Life
Nick Knowles has four children. He was married to Gillian Knowles and later to Jessica Rose Moor. In 2021, he became engaged to Katie Dadzie.
His brother runs a record company. His three sisters are all dancers. In 2018, it was reported that he was living in Spain. Nick once received a driving ban for using his phone while driving. He said it was a "wake-up call" and now keeps his phone in the boot of his car to avoid temptation.
Interests and Charity Work
In 2013, Nick and his then-wife opened an antiques shop. They also had a home design business. Nick enjoys playing rugby. He also follows a mostly vegan diet.
Nick is a big supporter of the children's anti-bullying charity Act Against Bullying. He also sang a song for Children in Need 2008. This is a charity event that raises money for children across the UK.
