Nintendo Land is a fun party video game made by Nintendo. It came out in 2012 for the Wii U game console. Nintendo first showed the game at a big event called E3 in 2012.

This game has twelve exciting mini-games. Each one is based on a famous Nintendo game series. Some examples are The Legend of Zelda, Mario, and Metroid. These mini-games are designed to look like attractions you would find at a theme park.

The main goal of Nintendo Land was to show off the special features of the Wii U GamePad controller. All the mini-games use its unique abilities. This includes motion controls and the touch screen. The game also works with the regular Wii Remote controller. Nintendo Land uses something called 'asymmetric gameplay'. This means that players can have a different experience depending on which controller they are using.

Many people liked the game. Reviewers gave it good scores. It sold over five million copies around the world.

Gameplay

Nintendo Land takes place in a virtual theme park. This park is like a central area where you can choose which of the twelve mini-games to play. A friendly robot named Monita helps you. She guides you through the game and teaches you how to play.

When you finish mini-games, you earn coins. You can use these coins to play a special pachinko game. If you win the pachinko game, you get a prize! The prizes are buildings or decorations from the mini-games. You can use these prizes to make your theme park look even cooler.

Team Attractions

These mini-games can be played by one to five players. They are designed for teamwork or competitive fun.

The Legend of Zelda: Battle Quest

This mini-game is based on The Legend of Zelda series. Players using a Wii Remote get to use a sword. They swing the sword to fight against enemies. The player using the Wii U GamePad has a bow and arrows. They must aim and shoot arrows at the enemies. The GamePad player can also look around corners by lifting the GamePad. To reload arrows, they simply point the GamePad down.

Metroid Blast

This mini-game is inspired by the Metroid series. Players using a Wii Remote and Nunchuk fight on the ground. The player using the Wii U GamePad controls Samus Aran's famous gunship in the air.

Metroid Blast has three different ways to play:

  • Assault Mission: In this mode, players work together to complete different levels.
  • Surface-Air Combat: Here, players on the ground try to defeat the player flying the gunship.
  • Ground Battle: All players are on foot in this mode. They compete to collect the most tokens.

Metroid Blast was first shown as a technology demo by Nintendo at E3 2011.
