Nollamara is a suburb located in Perth, Western Australia. It's part of the City of Stirling, which is its local government area. This means the City of Stirling council helps manage services for the community in Nollamara.

The name "Nollamara" comes from the Noongar language. It's the Noongar word for a beautiful flowering plant called Macropidia, which is also known as the black kangaroo paw.

Nollamara is quite close to the heart of Perth, being less than 10 kilometers away from the Perth central business district (CBD). It's also about 11 kilometers from Trigg beach, so you can easily get to the coast.

In recent years, Nollamara has been changing a lot. Older houses are being replaced with new townhomes. This process is sometimes called gentrification. It means that more young families and professionals are moving into the area.

Nollamara is known for its many trees, parks, and places for fun activities. A great example is the newly updated Des Penman Reserve. Here, you can find tennis courts, soccer fields, lawn bowls, a playground, and even shaded spots for lunch with BBQ facilities. Some parts of Nollamara are on higher ground, giving you nice views of the neighborhoods around it.

Nollamara shares borders with well-known areas like Yokine and Dianella. New roads like Flinders Street and Wanneroo Road make it easy to travel to places like Leederville, Subiaco, Northbridge, and the Perth CBD.

Getting Around Nollamara

Nollamara has a good public transport system, mainly using buses run by Transperth. These buses connect Nollamara to many other parts of Perth. You can catch a bus to places like the Mirrabooka Bus Station, Perth Busport (which is in the city center), and even Warwick Station. This makes it easy for residents to travel for school, work, or fun activities.

Community Facilities

Nollamara is home to the Quan The Am Nunnery. This is a Vietnamese Buddhist temple, which serves as a place of worship and community for many people in the area.
