His Life and Work
Rashed had an interesting career path. For a short time, he served in the Royal Indian Army during Second World War. He reached the rank of captain.

Rashed's Poetry in Movies
One of Rashed's poems, "Zindagi sey dartey ho" (Do you fear life?), was used in a 2010 Bollywood movie called Peepli Live. The Indian music band, Indian Ocean, performed the song. Many people loved the song, calling it "hard-hitting" and "a gem of a track." They felt it was a song "everyone is meant to sing, and mean, at some point in life."
A College Hall Named After Him
