Nubeena is a small town and fishing village located on the Tasman Peninsula in Tasmania, Australia. It's part of the Tasman Council area. In 2016, about 481 people lived there, making it the biggest town on the peninsula.

Where is Nubeena?

Nubeena is found about halfway along the west coast of the Tasman Peninsula. It sits right on Parsons Bay, which is a narrow part of Wedge Bay. The town is also about 10.3 kilometers (6.4 miles) north-west of Port Arthur.

History of Nubeena

The Nubeena Post Office first opened its doors on December 1, 1886. The very first postmaster was a man named Joseph Thornton (1813-1899). He was in charge of carrying the mail between Wedge Bay, Premaydena, and Impression Bay.

Today, the town has a police station to help keep everyone safe. It also has a branch of the Country Women's Association, which is a group that supports women and communities.
