Oakbrook Terrace is a city located in DuPage County, Illinois. It's a suburb of the big city of Chicago. In 2020, about 2,751 people lived there. It's the smallest city in DuPage County, both in size and population.

History of Oakbrook Terrace
Oakbrook Terrace was first called Utopia. A postmaster suggested this name. The city officially changed its name to Oakbrook Terrace in November 1959.
Geography and Location
Oakbrook Terrace covers a total area of about 1.33 square miles (3.44 km2). Most of this area, about 1.31 square miles (3.39 km2), is land. The rest, about 0.03 square miles (0.08 km2), is water.

Oakbrook Terrace Tower
The Oakbrook Terrace Tower is a very tall, 31-story office building. It was designed by Helmut Jahn and finished in 1987. This tower is the tallest building in Illinois outside of Chicago. It is about 418-foot (127 m) tall and has 773,000 square feet (71,800 m2) of office space. The tower stands where a fun place called Dispensa's Kiddie Kingdom and Castle of Toys used to be.
Drury Lane Theatre
The Drury Lane is a large theater and conference center. It is right next to the Oakbrook Terrace Tower. It has a huge banquet hall that can hold 2,000 people. There is also a theater with 971 seats.
