History of Ogens
Ogens is a very old place. It was first written about in documents from 1166. That means it has been around for many centuries!
Geography of Ogens
Ogens covers an area of about 3.4 square kilometers (1.3 square miles). A large part of this land, about 61%, is used for farming. Forests cover about 30% of the area. The rest, about 8%, has buildings and roads.
The village is located on a flat area. It sits along the right side of the Mentue river. You can find Ogens between the towns of Echallens and Payerne.
Before 2006, Ogens was part of the Moudon District. Now, it is part of the newer Gros-de-Vaud district.
